Every year the Green Man festival takes place on the Glanusk Estate, around ten minutes from our cottage. I’m not usually a fan of festivals – too many people standing very close to one another makes me uneasy – but Green Man is a lovely, welcoming, relaxed festival that totally won me over. The line up was incredible – Mercury Rev playing Deserter’s Songs in full, Teleman, Sharon von Etten, Neutral Milk Hotel, First Aid Kit and too many more to mention. There was comedy and spoken word, impromptu communist plays, a real ale and cider festival and delicious food. All this against the backdrop of the hulking Table Mountain, looming up behind the main stage as the nights drew in.
